The Civic Museum occupies the rooms of the former Palazzo Pretorio, overlooking the highest part of Lucignano. The halls house paintings, sacred furnishings and traces of city life, but every visit inevitably ends in front of a work that seems to gather all the light of the museum.
The Golden Tree, a work more than a century in the making
The large reliquary, also known as the Tree of Life or Tree of Love, was created between the 14th and 15th centuries. Silver, gilded copper, enamels and coral form a branching structure of extraordinary precision. It is not merely a precious object: it is the symbol through which Lucignano tells its own idea of beauty and good omen.
Signorelli, Sienese painting and the rooms of power
Alongside the reliquary are works by Luca Signorelli and Sienese masters, as well as the decorations of the Chancery Room. The palace still preserves the memory of the ancient court and its civic functions. Art and institutional history thus coexist in the same space, making the museum an essential key to understanding the village.
