A museum of rural life

Radici Toscane leads to a demoethnoanthropological museum dedicated to the agricultural history of the Valdichiana. The collection includes forty-six vintage tractors, threshing machines, tools and machinery that document the evolution of work in the fields. Alongside the objects, carefully reconstructed environments bring to life rural life between the 1920s and 1950s: rooms, workshops and work spaces allow visitors to imagine the habits, hardships and relationships of a community deeply bound to the land. The museum does not only display tools, but tells the stories of the people who used them.

An immersive journey

The staged reconstructions, original music and period objects create an experience accessible to visitors of all ages. Specialized staff guide the public and help recognize functions, techniques and transformations that might otherwise be difficult to interpret. The route unfolds in a pavilion of about 1,500 square meters and continues into the outdoor exhibition park, set within an area of four hectares. The size of the complex allows visitors to alternate in-depth learning and discovery, moving from domestic settings to large agricultural machinery without losing the thread of the story.

For families, schools and enthusiasts

The Experience is suitable for families, schools, and anyone interested in the social and technical history of rural Tuscany. Children can approach the past through concrete objects and recognizable settings; adults rediscover family memories or discover a way of life now far away. The visit shows how mechanization changed work, but also how much knowledge has been preserved and passed on. It is an opportunity to better understand the contemporary landscape of the Valdichiana, still marked by those transformations. Leaving the museum, the territory appears different: no longer just beautiful, but readable through its roots.
