For a few days Lucignano changes its rhythm and lets itself be filled with the scent of flowers, music and the patient work of its neighborhoods. The Maggiolata Lucignanese returns in 2026 with the 87th edition, bringing into the historic center one of the most recognizable and beloved festivals of the Valdichiana Aretina.
The event is born from the participation of the community and the ability to turn an already picturesque village into a great open-air stage. Behind every float there are months of preparation, craftsmanship, shared ideas and a competition lived with passion.
The edition dedicated to the Olympics
The theme chosen for 2026 is that of the Olympics. The neighborhoods will interpret sport, its symbols and its energy through allegorical floats entirely covered in flowers. The compositions will travel through the streets of Lucignano accompanied by music bands, folk groups and performances.
The parade is the most anticipated moment, but the Maggiolata is also experienced before and after the floats pass: in the squares, in the alleys and in the encounters between residents and visitors, when the village fills with colors and becomes an integral part of the celebration.
Three events and the Settimana Maggiolina
- Sunday 31 May 2026: first day of the Maggiolata.
- Monday 1 June 2026: night parade.
- Sunday 7 June 2026: closing event.
From 28 May to 7 June, the Settimana Maggiolina is also scheduled, with food stalls, local products and evening shows. It is an opportunity to experience Lucignano at a more relaxed pace, stop by the historic centre and discover a tradition that renews itself without losing its identity.
