The "Steak Festival" a Cortona If it is not the most historic festival in Tuscany, it is certainly among the oldest and most glorious: having been born in the early 1960s, it is a true veteran among Tuscan festivals, a traditional culinary event very popular in Tuscany.
An annual appointment on the calendar during the week of Ferragosto, it takes place at the Parterre Gardens (a magical panoramic terrace offering an exceptional view over the Valdichiana).
With a Guinness World Records grill reaching a circumference of 14 meters (the largest working one in Italy), steaks of 700 grams to 1.2 kilograms are cooked.
The "Sagra della Bistecca" is a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in Tuscan culture and gastronomy, meet local people and enjoy a delicious outdoor dinner in a festive and convivial atmosphere. For many, this event is a fixed appointment, attracting people from across Italy and from abroad.
